I think Savannah Outen's version of Forever & Always might just be better than the original. (Have I said that before?) Sitting at sway-chick's dining table while sway chick and sway sim watch castaway (tom hanks) on TV, saying I must watch it with tissues because it's soo good.

went to the bazaar today, came back with a pair of pretty new flipflops that cost 300 baht (THE PRETTIER HAVIANNAS THAT I WANTED COST 1, 200 BAHT OR SOMETHING!! but they were sooo prettyyyy! white and gold with flowers and a wedgey heel!), an awesomely exotic bright pink shawl (if it came in green I swear it'd look just like the one in shopaholic, it was that material!!) also for 300 baht and this great set of staedhler (however you spell that dang german brand) fine markers. it's all these colours and it comes in a blue, soft leather case with a detachable pencil case! for 320 baht, I think. cos I thought the man said 380, but when I calculated my expenses and the change it didn't add up. hmm. 320's good lah (:

I'm bored ):

bazaar was fun, lol. sher and I were tricked into giving tester biscuits and offering them to everyone- mostly tired shoppers who put down bags to get a free snack and then walked off. but it was so great when we sold the last tin of biscuits and everybody cheered, much to the surprise of the person who bought the last tin. :D and then I slacked and listened to my iPod some, and then we ate at the food court (chicken rice at paragon food court = not so good) and went home where I turned on the a/c (it's damn hot here kay :( I miss deciembre and CHIANGMAI oh shit I might turn emo again, like I do whenever anyone mentions chiangmai in december or whatever) and read the last bit of my last issue of instyle.

I NEED MORE INSTYLE ISSUES PPL. I DON'T CARE IF THEY'RE OLD, THEY GIVE ME INSPARACION. (: which is inspiration if you can't read aloud.

and and, this is a list of things I 'need':

• 1200B haviannas :D (just kidding)
• ten & co. tank tops, cos they fit me well, compared to the ones i bought at mbk

Anyway, I've been working on a modern-Jane-Eyre-idea of an aspiring author who goes to an organic farm far far away from the city to tutor the daughter of a single woman who works there. Her name is Nora Kensington and the story's written from her perspective.

CHAPTER ONE
Her square-toed boots (red, with fringe) hit the pavement as she exited the shop, her face pink with excitement, several fresh bags dangling from her fingertips. The black chiffon skirt she had on fluttered in the breeze, and- OH, FORGET IT.
That settles it: I am officially unable to write without mentioning an outfit. I knew I should’ve taken something like, oh, I don’t know, fashion design, instead of literature. I knew I’d be much more of a high-flier, like my stupid lawyer older brother (who cares about law, anyway?), if I was the next Karl Lagerfeld, instead of the next J.K. Rowling. (I don’t even know enough Latin to make up spells.)
“Are you really sure about this, Nora dear?” my mother asks, fluttering nervously near my shoulder as I slit an envelope neatly with a letter-opener. A letter falls out: pink writing paper, neatly folded into a square. There’s only one person in the universe who writes on this, and there’s no way I’m going to read this letter now with my mother in such close proximity. “I mean, you’re only…”
“Twenty-four,” I say. I’ve heard this about a million times in a day. My mother thinks that if she can repeat my age often enough, I’m going to be convinced that I’m not fully matured yet and any major decision I make is going to turn out as a gigantic fluke the size of Antarctica (how big is it again?). Well, considering how I decided to take literature instead of fashion design… I have to be right about this, I have to.

my work uses a lot more italics but when you copy and paste blogger doesn't take note of italics and such, so don't mind me :D

I want to create a real mod-look blogskin right now but my brains are peeling, it's time for dinner and I'm frustrated.

For our Grade 7 Confirmation charity thing, we held a used book/magazine sale for 50B each (that's really cheap for most, S$2.50ish, but if you're getting like Total Girl that's expensive I guess) and I LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT (:

Cos last time I got Me & Mr Darcy and Can You Keep A Secret? M&MD was going for 350B at Asia Books, which is almost twenty bucks. And I got it for two fifty! :D

3 InStyles (inc. one big fat issue, cos every now and then they have big fat issues) for 150B!!

cos they're having a clearance sale, 30-70% off! got this really comfy pair of black jeans cos I gave my last pair away today (they were really tight and hard to walk around in), plus a stripey shirt for alternate dress day (: twins day! and an awesome green shirt with multicoloured stars, and a blue tank top. all for about 2000 baht, which is 100S$ but considering the original prices of what I bought, is pretty good (:

and had a tough time in the fitting room, I was so freaked. the dress I was trying out had a zip to help you get in and out of it and it stuck. so I pretty much couldn't get out of the dress at all. until I just heaved at the zip and it went pwwoooh all the way down and I was like PHEW.

anyway, am going to make a simple skin (navy, yellow, light grey, white, black) based on one of InStyle's colour palettes (so awesome, they had a few pages of suggested colour palettes for summer w/the outfits, and who knew pink + green were so cute together?)

as my mother so aptly reminded me, I need to catch up on my homework fast because we're going to be uber busy this weekend: JOSEPH TEO is arriving in bangkok! *round of applause*

yearbook was okayyy. found out two of pics were pixellated -HOW WELL I KNOW THAT PROBLEM- so had to redo some stuff, then other than that I'm done so IDK what I'll be doing next ): mari's doing front cover! (oh well you cant be expecting to do both covers can you.) I cant wait till yearbook comes out I'm going to hyperventilate and circle all the pages I did in black marker. LOL. just kidding. so far I've done... operation smile celebrity lookalikes sports collage tennis back cover so that's about 10. almost I think. cos celebrity lookalikes is... 4 or 6, I can't remember. looking at them again now I think they're so messy but whatev, if ms ulster likes it I've run out of ideas (: haha. back cover!! but I think the greatest achievement is the front cover ad. I don't know where mine will be but we'll have 6 little mini-magazine-spoofs and mine's InStyle! or rather, InSchool Special ISB Edition. it was really fun and I was honoured to do it. cos InStyle is my alltime fave magazine.

then we wanted softball and orange guy said no one there but you can do it yourself just be careful, but then we decided to do high jump instead so this guy in an ISB shirt who'd been slacking around came over to help us. it was so funny, we were adjusting the high jump thingy and I was helping. so to adjust you have to turn this knob to let the stand thingy drop. so I turned turned turned and the stand just went BANG BANG BANG to the ground, and I screamed and went SHIT!! and then the guy was like laughing his butt off cos he'd already adjusted his side. embarrassing but I did it like thrice cos I have no idea how to adjust the damn thing. then anyway orange guy came to help us once but then he was talking to the other guy and knocked the pole over. and then the other guy was like, whatchoo touch that for? and the orange guy was like, shut up. then he told us he'd better get back to discus and ran off. (only two people in discus. and three of us in high jump. everyone else was doing long jump. weird.)

joanne didnt do cos she wasnt feeling well so tata and I were slacking around trying it. I hit the pole on my last try. grah. I hate rubbing against the mat. it hurts like crazy. but it is nice to bounce after you land (: OH MAN I'M HYPER

so anyway after pe we were all hyper and I was like talking to all the guys who were helping us. which is something I do when I get really high. then tata was like, I FEEL GOOD! SO GOOD! I GOT YOU YOU YOU! and we were laughing OUR butts off. being high is randomly fun (:

I need to bring a book next time. even if it ruins my eyes it's more entertaining to read on the bus going home. or I can bring my laptop LOL.

3. Avalon High is a realistic fiction book based on the myth of King Arthur. Characters seem to be reincarnated from the myth. Ellie, daughter of two history professors, seems to notice this quickly enough, but can she stop the trouble that's brewing up in Avalon High (her school)? (The presence of good, popular AND handsome Will doesn't seem to help.)
4. Lizzie is a girl who can't keep her mouth shut. In fact, her babbling lands her in trouble with her financially-troubled boyfriend, and is the reason why she is on a train to France, ready to spend the rest of her holiday with her friend at a mansion there. She spills her secrets to a stranger who's kind and understanding... and then finds out he's the owner of the mansion she's going to.
5. Heather Wells is a former pop star who retired from the business when her manager (and boyfriend's father) laughed at her idea of writing all her own songs. She has since grown increasingly plumper and lives in semi-obscurity with her boyfriend's brother, Cooper, the black sheep of the family. The trilogy (Size 12 Is Not Fat, Size 14 Is Not Fat Either, Size Doesn't Matter) follows her as she solves death after mysterious death in the dorm she works at.

Comments:

1. Jesse. Is. Awesome. Enough said. Not gory enough that you'd get nightmares, so should be safe to read at night. I have books 4 and 6 if you want to borrow them. (There are 6 books in the series.)
2. The captain is just plain awesome too. Rather interesting read considering you'd think Meg would write chic lit better than historical fiction. I don't have this book (I borrowed it from the library). Another historical fiction I'm planning to check out is Nicola and the Viscount.
3. I LOVE THIS. Its sequel, a manga, was recently released but I haven't checked it out yet. I have it if you want to borrow. Its plot is actually really good and it's not so cheesy-romantic.
4. Very interesting- the mansion's owner Luke is sweet! I'm planning to buy the sequel Queen of Babble Gets Hitched. Warning: at the end of the book there's a PG scene but it's not too explicit. (I don't have this book.)
5. Very, very awesome. The solutions to the mysteries aren't obvious. While it isn't Agatha Christie-mystery-awesome, the series still makes for good reads. I have books 2 and 3 in the trilogy if you want to borrow.

grah. my science grade hasn't even touched A yet. there is NO WAY I'm getting high honour roll this semester. KEEP WORKING GRACE!
for yearbook, we're doing this really cool magazine layout idea, so for the cover we have 6 spoofs of magazine covers. I did InStyle (InSchool- who knew instyle font could be so hard to replicate? I couldn't find any that looked remotely like it, so I bolded century gothic and stretched it) in like, ten minutes (it was so easy! lots of text and one image! plus, if you know blogskinning, graphic design is easy-o; dafont helped me do the barcode and make the whole thing look nicer) so ms ulster said I should be a graphic designer one day (hmmm. possible!) and showed EVERYONE my work (so embarrassing, considering I'm like a don't-put-me-in-the-spotlight person). and then she asked me if I had any ideas for the back of the yearbook, so I said since magazines have ads at the back we should have one.
so now my task is to look at ads of hotels and replicate it too for ISB, maybe with mr straub and mr bt on it, ms ulster said. grah. I was thinking something more like clothes. cos hotel ads are... not as artistic, I think. no offense. maybe I should go have a good look at google search 'hotel ads'.

Packing for Chiangmai (on-off-ly) now. Gosh, I hate packing for school trips cos it just seems like so much. Then the next day everyone turns up with teeny weeny bags and you're like, what?

Going to make some icons or something, cos my mum can't find the tiny cute shampoo and soap we save for trips, so I'm waiting for her. Everything else is splayed out on my bed. Really, splayed.
